International School Award 2012-2024.Bowburn Primary School are very proud to have been awarded the International School Award for ‘ Outstanding Development in the International Dimension’ in 2021. This award recognises the importance we place on developing links with our friends in other countries and especially our ongoing links with Gladstone Academy in Nepal.
Just a few of the amazing letters Year 4 received from Palais School in Diepenbeek in Belgium.
A few years ago, Bowburn Infants took part in a British Council Comenius project with this school and we have remained in contact ever since.
Year 4 wrote letters describing what life is like for them during lockdown and these children replied in both English and their own language.
Year 4 loved dressing up in Hindu clothes and making models in clay
Year 3 used clay to make candle pots and models of Ganesh
Year 2 and Year 6 attempted to try a variety of Chinese food using chopsticks!
Year 5 tried to write their names in the very complicated Chinese characters!

As part of our ongoing International School Award, the whole school took part in a series of activities to celebrate Chinese New Year.
