Changes to School Uniform
Amalgamation of Bowburn Junior and Bowburn Infant and Nursery Schools took place from September 2019 when we became one Primary School. As such, uniform requirements changed from September 2019 with the introduction of our new school logo, establishing a new identity for children as they learn with us.
Children from Nursery to Y6 wear our uniform as of September 2022.
How has the uniform changed?
The uniform will reflect our new logo and the key aims of our new identity. The uniform remains smart and also practical; by wearing it, children show that they are part of the school, take pride in representing the school and the uniform will provide children with a collective identity. A number of items in the school uniform will carry the new Bowburn Primary School logo. The sweatshirt colour remains red. We also have a PE uniform which we encourage all pupils to wear.
Reducing the costs of the school day :
We appreciate that uniform can be costly , therefore we understand that you may wish children to wear items without the logo which are available locally, such as sweatshirts, polo shirts etc. We do have a school tracksuit but there is no requirement to purchase this . Children come to school on PE days dressed in blue shorts and red t shirt but in cold weather can wear a tracksuit over the top to keep warm and dry. This does not need to be the one available on the website , but preferably should be plain in colour, without brands or logos.
